Without research efforts and proactive participation by academics in advancing the discipline of medicine and health science, improvements in the fields of medicine and health are unlikely to happen. Therefore, research in medicine and health sciences plays a very important role in improving the well-being of society and the country. Through quality research in medicine and health sciences, it can reduce the impact of health problems and at the same time improve the standard of human health around the world.

As high as the dignity of research, so is its value to the enrichment of knowledge and its impact on society which is a symbol of the excellence of academics’ thinking. The commitment of the editorial staff in the field of medicine translated through the Direction and Strategic Plan of the Malaysian Journal of Medicine and Health Sciences 2024-2028 reflects a high commitment to improve skills and the research environment, and directly contribute to the development of the production of quality articles especially in medical and health services.

Universities need to carry out research that has a high impact, not only on life, but also on the advancement of science. Therefore, it is important to promote a culture of research, especially in the field of medicine and health sciences, to ensure that research achieves the best value and quality.
